Finding Serenity in Athens: A Day at the National Garden and Zappeion
Athens, Greece is a bustling city that never sleeps. With its rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning architecture, it’s no wonder why tourists flock to this city year-round. However, amidst all the hustle and bustle, it can be challenging to find some peace and quiet. But fear not, because there are still a few hidden gems in Athens that offer serenity and relaxation. One of these places is the National Garden and Zappeion.
The National Garden, also known as the Royal Garden, is a lush oasis located in the heart of Athens. It was originally created by Queen Amalia in the 19th century as a private garden for the royal family. Today, it’s open to the public and offers a peaceful escape from the city’s chaos. As soon as you enter the garden, you’ll be greeted by towering trees, colorful flowers, and tranquil ponds. It’s the perfect place to take a leisurely stroll or have a picnic with friends and family.
One of the best things about the National Garden is its diversity. There are several different sections within the garden, each with its unique charm.
