Wonder at the Wonders of the Deep: A Day at Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada
As a traveler in Toronto, one cannot miss out on the opportunity to visit Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. This world-class aquarium is home to over 160 species of marine life and is one of the largest indoor aquariums in the world. From sharks to sea turtles, jellyfish to octopuses, there is so much to see and explore at Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada.
As I walked through the doors of the aquarium, I was immediately struck by the sheer size of the building. The main tank, which holds over 2. 8 million liters of water, is visible from the entrance and is a sight to behold. As I made my way around the exhibits, I found myself in awe of the incredible creatures that call this aquarium home.
One of the highlights of the aquarium is the Shark Lagoon exhibit. Here, visitors can walk through an underwater tunnel and see sharks swimming overhead. The sheer size of these creatures is impressive, and it’s fascinating to watch them glide effortlessly through the water. There are also interactive displays that allow visitors to learn more about different species of sharks and their habitats.
Another exhibit that caught my attention was the Rainbow Reef. This colorful display features a variety of tropical fish, including clownfish, angelfish, and tangs. The bright colors of these fish are mesmerizing, and it’s easy to spend hours watching them swim around their habitat.
One of the most unique exhibits at Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada is the Jellyfish Gallery. This exhibit features a variety of jellyfish, including moon jellies, sea nettles, and lion’s mane jellyfish. The way these creatures move through the water is hypnotic, and it’s fascinating to watch them pulse and glow in the darkened gallery.
As I continued my journey through the aquarium, I came across the Sea Turtle Conservation exhibit. This exhibit features a rescued sea turtle named Mr. Green, who was found injured off the coast of Florida. Visitors can watch as he swims and plays in his habitat, and learn more about the conservation efforts being made to protect these incredible creatures.
Finally, I made my way to the Dangerous Lagoon exhibit, which features a variety of predators, including sand tiger sharks, nurse sharks, and sawfish. This exhibit is designed to give visitors a sense of what it would be like to dive in the ocean with these creatures, and it’s both thrilling and a little bit scary.
Overall, my visit to Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada was an incredible experience. The sheer size and diversity of the exhibits is impressive, and there is so much to see and learn
